Fall Plaid Farm Engagement

Engagements

Nothing is more awkward than a man in front of a camera who hasn’t had his photos taken since his senior year of high school. There are nervous chuckles and the occasional “this is so awkward.” It happens every single session, like clockwork. Dylan was no exception. Angela on the other hand was a natural. Between her confidence and my corny jokes, the genuine smiles and sweet moments didn’t take long.

Dylan and Angela are a couple I have known for quite a few years but have more recently been spending more time with. Angela is just so “extra” in all the right ways. It reminds me so much of myself and that’s probably why we click. I was elated when they asked me to photograph their wedding next October. I couldn’t say yes fast enough. I just know her wedding will be filled with all the personal touch details much like my own. My heart is already swooning.

We had originally scheduled their engagement session during the prime leaf change, but mother nature had other plans. Rain and chilly weather caused us to have to reschedule, but I am so glad we did. When I arrived at the address Angela had given me I felt right at home. It was a quaint family farm of one of her closest friends. It had an old red barn, an old school silo and fields that stretched forever. It was perfection.

We seriously had the best time laughing, exploring and capturing such a sweet love. We were even able to capture a couple hilarious best friend shots that were so true to their personalities. They featured her lovely bridesmaid that was kind enough to let us take over their property. I truly cannot wait to watch these two tie the knot in less than a year!

Here are some of my favorites from their session:
